Description
Maton EM100C-12 Messiah Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar
A Maton masterpiece! Blending only the very best materials available, with exquisite craftsmanship, the new Maton Messiah EM100C represents a total, no compromise approach. Flawless attention to detail guarantees your Messiah will be an instrument of pride and pleasure for many years to come.
The new Maton Messiah EM100c has been remodelled for a new beginning in 2012. Featuring a newly tuned, scalloped braced top and Solid Rosewood back and side sets, this Australian Music Industry icon has taken its classic worldly timbers and expanded its tonal spectrum. A new Solid Mahogany Neck adds thickness to its deeper and richer tone and again the Maton UV paint finishes this model with a finer and more refined quality. The Maton signature M MOP decal on the headstock is the finishing touch to a guitar that is truly a world class performer.
The idea behind the new Messiah is to bring together the best of the world’s tonewoods to reinvigorate our flagship model. You could say the Messiah has been reborn, in that it now stands out from the pack aesthetically and tonally. We have taken the Messiah and maximised its tone and projection. The combination of scalloped bracing, mahogany neck, a thinner, rounded, back and an ultra thin UV finish has brought the Messiah up to where it belongs – The king of Maton’s range
All controls are now at your fingertips – their “resistance curves” have been designed and manufactured expressly for the AP5 PRO.
Bill May founded Maton in 1946. Maton’s name is derived from the words “May” and “Tone”. Until the mid-1930s Australian industrial manufacturing guitars were virtually non-existent. Good quality guitars were hard to find and at this time the best guitars were in the United States. Melbourne-born jazz musician, teacher and luthier Bill May decided to change all that. During the early 1940s Bill established a custom guitar manufacturing and repair company called “Maton Violin Making and Repairs”. In March 1946, Bill and his brother Reg launched Maton Corporate Musical Instruments, the opening of Australia’s first major violin maker based in Canterbury, Melbourne, in 1949. Maton now has a new modern facility in the Melbourne suburb. Maton is still a 100% family business, operated by Linda and Neville Kitchen (daughter and son-in-law of Bill May).
