The EBG808 Nashville pairs an “AA Select” grade Spruce soundboard with solid Blackwood back and sides.

Blackwood is an Australian timber that sits firmly in the mids, giving the guitar a warm, woody, vocal character that suits recording and accompaniment as readily as the stage. The 808 body, Maton’s most enduring shape, keeps the bass full without ever crowding the midrange where a singer sits. Scalloped Maton X bracing keeps the top alive under a light touch and holds together when driven.

Tighter components

Miniature surface mount components allow the preamp to be placed on one PCB, making the complete system smaller and less prone to hum and noise pickup.

The rigidity of this smaller PCB means it’s less prone to develop problems with ageing. Because it’s bolted into position in the casing, the whole assembly is less likely to develop rattles with the constant movement and shipping expected of a performing musician’s instrument.
