Overview:

Audio-Technica updates its line of fully manual belt-drive turntables with the AT-LP7X, featuring a dense MDF plinth and acrylic platter to minimize resonance and vibrations for cleaner sound. Its sleek matte black finish gives it a minimalistic, modern appeal.

The turntable’s J-shaped aluminum tonearm, inspired by classic A-T models of the 1960s and ’70s features a dual-axis gimbal with precision ball bearings for low-friction tracking. It is equipped with the AT-LT10 headshell and AT-VM95E BK (black) cartridge with 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus, providing excellent channel separation and low distortion for outstanding tonal quality. For easy customization, the stylus can be replaced or interchanged with other styli in the VM95 line.

The tonearm’s VTA (vertical tracking angle) adjustment and 16 g subcounterweight also enable the use of a broad range of other cartridges and headshells. (A 32 g subcounterweight, available separately, enables the use of even heavier cartridge/headshell combinations.) For further customization and convenience, the AT-LP7X features a built-in switchable phono pre-amplifier with selectable modes for MM (moving magnet) or MC (moving coil) cartridges

The AT-LP7X plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records. Its 20 mm acrylic platter is driven by an optical sensor-monitored motor that ensures a continuously accurate platter rotation speed. The motor is mounted on vibration-dampening rubber bushings designed to decouple the motor from the plinth, minimizing the transmission of mechanical noise and oscillations. An external switching power supply isolates the AC to DC conversion to prevent it from adding any electrical interference. The spring-based isolation feet are height-adjustable and offer excellent protection against unwanted noise and vibration.

The turntable comes with a detachable RCA output cable (dual RCA male to dual RCA male with ground), 45 RPM adapter, and removable hinged dust cover.
