Neumann TLM 102 – Large Diaphram Studio Microphone

Neumann tml 102 – Large Diaphram Directional pattern Cardioid Studio Microphone

Categories: , Tag:

Its reduced dimensions contribute to an exceptionally compact appearance, incorporating all the typical elements of the look of a Neumann microphone. Its harmonious proportions and the shiny ring under the grille ensure that at first glance the TLM 102 * attracts attention. In terms of sound, the TLM 102 is impressive. It incorporates a new large-diameter capsule, cardioid directivity, handling a maximum sound pressure level of 144 dB, which allows it to record percussion, drums, guitar or bass amps and other sound sources of very high level. But even lower volume instruments will benefit from the TLM 102’s very fast response to transients.

However, its preferred field of application remains voices, sung or spoken. A slight rise in the response curve beyond 6 kHz ensures excellent presence of the voice in the mix. Up to 6 kHz, the frequency response is very linear, resulting in minimal coloring and a clearly defined bass. The capsule is mounted on an elastic suspension, eliminating the solid transmission of structural noise. An anti-pop screen integrated into the grid makes it possible to suppress plosives when recording voices sung or spoken in proximity. Thanks to its price and its many fields of application, the TLM 102 is ideal for recording in home studios and for the project studio sector, as well as in broadcast, especially if it is important not to interfere with the visibility of facilitators. The TLM 102 is available in black and nickel finish; it is delivered with its mounting for microphone stand.
